Shimla, the former summer capital of the British in India, and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla has been blessed with all the natural bounties which one can think of. It has got a scenic location; it is surrounded by green hills with snow capped peaks. The spectacular cool hills accompanied by the structures made during the colonial era create an aura which is very different from other hill. Altitude: 2202.00 Meters Shimla is ideally located, and though there is an air service to the town, it is best reached by road that takes in the charms of the HIMALAYAN countryside at its best. The Viceregal Lodge, the most historically significant and architectural impressive building of the region that makes for a pleasant half-day excursion. The Viceregal Lodge was the summer residence of the Indian Viceroy, the British Raj leader who governed the whole of the Indian subcontinent between 1888 until 1946. Within the Viceroy Lodge many significant decisions from this era about India were devised, discussed and agreed upon. For visitors the Viceregal Lodge is an elaborate Mock-Tudor stately home that is surrounded by immaculately maintained gardens. Only a few of the staterooms can be visited as part of a brief tour as the building has been transformed into an advanced university complex. Viceregal Lodge is located 2km west of Shimla on the summit of Observatory Hill, which provides wonderful panoramic views over the region. Originally the residence of the Viceroys of India, it now houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Study
Green Valley a natural dale near Shimla. It is surrounded by verdant hills that are covered with dense forests of pine and deodar. Sometimes rare animals like Yaks can be seen wandering and grazing here. It is a popular point where people come to witness and enjoy the picturesque lush green environs.
Annadale located near the Ridge, in the heart of Shimla a popular picnic spot. During the British rule, this field served as a playground for games like polo, cricket and racing. Currently owned by the Indian Army, this area houses the Army Heritage Museum within the boundaries.
Day 03 : SHIMLA IN AND AROUND

A small hill station of Himachal Pradesh, Kufri is 19-kms from Shimla connecting by national highway no. 22. Popular for its hiking and skiing trails in Himachal Pradesh, Kufri is at its natural best during winters. Skiing and tobogganing can be enjoyed along snow-capped slopes. The Himalayan Nature Park is one of the major tourist Places in Kufri. This Park offers numerous endangered birds and animals such as goral, serow, musk deer, leopard, black bears and so on. A walk through Mahasu Peak, crowned by a small temple, can be an ideal option for fun lovers as they have to cross a forest of spruce and deodar on the way. The Mahasu Ridge avails good slopes for skiing.
Day 04 : SHIMLA – KULLU / MANALI
